A tiny yellow airplane circled lazily through white, cotton-ball clouds. A scale-model crane lifted steel to a building under construction and very small skiers were rescued from a slope to a helicopter hovering overhead.

Had there been tiny passengers in that Southern Pacific HO-scale model train, there would have been much for them to see on their circular trip in the middle of Marshall Civic Center.

As it is, there was much of interest for the 87 times larger, living, breathing viewers who visited this weekend's first annual model train show.

Held as a fund-raiser for Marshall's Depot Museum, the event was such a success that Chairman Mary Hendricks has begun planning a repeat performance.
