In 1991 David saw the gold. He thought he was on a roll.

He returned in 1993 and was headed for victory until the last contestant came to the line. This contestant introduced a new technique that produced improved distances. David saw his dream destroyed with the bounce of that rubber chicken. He came in second.

At this point David decided to move to Illinois. He said it was not because of this failed performance. But seasoned chicken clunkers still consider it an open question.

The dream lived on and this year David returned to claim the title of top Chicken Chunker. His throw was an amazing 101 feet. This erase his previous best of 86 feet.

David said he attributes this increased distance to an improved technique someone taught him. This just proves you can teach an old Chicken Chunker a new trick.
