The Michelson Museum of Art will host the opening reception for the 48th Annual Hoover Watercolor Society Juried Exhibition at 4:30 p.m. through 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The exhibition will be on display through Aug. 31.

"We enjoy hosting this show," said Susan Spears, museum director. She said all of the artists are friends and neighbors – mostly from Texas and Louisiana.

The Hoover Watercolor Society was organized in 1958 and is open to all who are seriously interested in watercolor painting and its appreciation, according to society information. The society provides educational and practical benefits for its members and the community.
