Good comments, Ron!

It is interesting how many Dems changed parties since the last election cycle. I asked one of them just why they changed parties and he was honest enough to admit he wouldn't have a chance of getting elected as a Democrat! Things have changed in Harrison Country and Marshall, Texas, for sure. More conservative and more in touch with grassroots America. Hopefully, we will see a movement across the country to take down this liberal, socialistic administration we have now.

This is a tired old argument! The rich and the poor will always be with us and we need to get a life and move on. The great American vision is to move up the economic ladder if possible to join those economic groups we don't belong to. I came from a very poor family, but my Mom and Dad taught me to get a job, better my economic status, and strive to achieve in life. I wasn't jealous of the rich and was thankful that those people (the generous ones!) contributed much to our country through creating business, charitable contributions, and betterment of their communities. Right here in Marshall, Texas, we have some very rich who invest in our community every day. I am grateful and thankful for them, not wanting them to pay more taxes or share their wealth through government mandate! The Wall Street demonstrators are barking up the wrong tree with their vitriol and laziness! They need to get off their butts and get a job and contribute something positive. Just my opinion, but one that is shared by many, many Americans!!

What lofty reason did Hughey claim led him to run as a Republican 4 years ago? He wasn't and isn't a Republican. He was asked by the "party" to run as a candidate specifically agaisnt Mr. Morin. And yes, the data regarding the shift from Democrat to Republican was rolling down hill even then. That and the general election of 08 got Hughey elected. And look where we are today. His biggest champion is Mrs. Charles Wilson, a rabid democrat who despises Republicans. The joke is on the Republican voters and those movers & shakers who think they're the annointed leaders of the Party. They hand picked their man, and with absolute disregard for his record or his performance, they're sticking with him. It's like the Emperor's New Clothes, only the voters of Harrison County can see theres a naked guy, but the party think's he's wrapped in a royal robe.

The focus of my article was that there is no good reason to vote in the Democratic primary sinnce all consteted races were in the Reppublican primary.

What if everything that is printed on Mr. Morin's campaign material is true? Did you, prior to making your judgment, access the website, go line by line and add up the numbers? I did. What I see is that theres more coming in than going out. Some people might think "so what does that matter, thats just numbers". If your mom got rear-ended in a car wreck 3 years ago, and the insurance company offered her $7.50 to pay for her medical bills, she is still waiting today to go to court. And the insurance company with their Dallas lawyers are laughing at us in Marshall because they know they get to wait and wait and wait, until finally your mom just gives up. Maybe her car is totalled, and she's got medical problems and a lot of bills to pay. And the Insurance company lawyers in Dallas just keep smiling cause they aren't worried a bit.

Lost all respect for Brad. I mean I am to where I hope he loses. And I agree completely with this person posting - Morin absolutely went race on this to make sure all the white voters know Hughey is black and that may deter from whites from voting. Brad never used to be this evil a person. The things we do for power.

Mr. Morin's flyer appears to reflect a lack of 'truthfulness' and 'judgement' that voters should DEMAND from anyone who is running for 71st District Judge. Also, it's very "unusual" for a candidate to put their opponent's picture on their flyers, unless of course, in this case, Mr. Morin is trying to attempt to play a race card. The 71st District Court under Judge William Hughey does not have a divisive racial issue now and the public doesn't need the downtown, deep pockets Marshall lawyer click of Mr. Morin trying to bring back racial bigotry. Judge Hughey uses Discernment and Judgement, taking the 'more difficult' road of trying to adjudge which defendants need treatment, who needs less jail time and who needs longer probationary periods, as he administers a true "People's Court".

Ron, thank you for exposing the recent Brad Morin political mailout for what it is...nothing but lies. Shame on Brad for using this unwarranted kind of tactic in trying to get elected. The first lie he told was on the front of his mailout where he claims to be a "Conservative Republican" ... Brad needs to be reminded of Ephesians 4:29 "Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth...

What record is your comment referencing that Mr. Morin is to "run on"? Is it his strong ties to his community and family? Is it his motivation to serve his community? Is it his dedication to year of coaching children's sports and his community activism? Is it his devotion to his family, his dedication to his clients and his love of the law? Is it his personal and professional integrity? If this is his record, then it stands as it is- Brad Morin is an honest, compassionate, and faithful man in our community. You need to realize that he has the support of the people who want a Judge that is going to sentence criminals and hear cases- with a particular emphasis on HEAR because if you've had a case before this court, you can bet that only half of what is said is even considered and most of the time he isn't listening to what's being said- I think he's more interest in what he thinks is supposed to come out of his own mouth.

When you can't run on your own record you have to smear the other candidate. That is what Brad Morin has done.
